Connect an AI assistant to Trade Flow

Once connected, an assistant like ChatGPT or Claude can see your quotes: list them with status and deposit status, or open one quote's line items and totals. It can read only — nothing can be created, sent or changed through the assistant, and it only ever sees your own quotes.

Connect your assistant

Connect step · ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT's advanced connector settings and turn on Developer mode. If you can't, ask your ChatGPT administrator to enable it.
  2. Open the new-app dialog.
  3. Name it Trade Flow and paste the connection address from above into the URL field.
  4. Review the details, tick "I understand and want to continue" (ChatGPT shows this warning for every custom connection, not just Trade Flow), then click Create.
  5. Turn the app on from the chat composer, then ask ChatGPT to use it.

Connect step · Claude

  1. Open Claude's add-connector dialog — the name and address are filled in for you. If it doesn't open, go to Claude's Connectors page, choose Add custom connector, name it Trade Flow and paste the address.
  2. Review the details and click Add.
  3. Turn the connector on from the chat composer, then ask Claude to use it.

Run this one-line command in a terminal:

  1. Start Claude Code and run /mcp to confirm Trade Flow is connected. If the app asks you to sign in, Claude Code prompts you from that menu.
  2. Ask Claude Code to use the app.

Connect step · Other assistants

For any assistant that supports remote MCP servers:

  1. Open the assistant's MCP server or custom connector settings.
  2. Create a remote MCP server connection.
  3. Name the connection Trade Flow and paste the connection address from above.
  4. Finish any sign-in or approval prompts it shows you.
  5. Turn the connection on, then ask the assistant to use the app.

After Trade Flow changes, refresh the connection

An assistant remembers the tools Trade Flow offered when you first connected. After Trade Flow ships changes, refresh the connection so it picks up the latest tools.

Refresh step · ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT's Plugins page and select Trade Flow.
  2. Scroll to Information and click Refresh.
  3. ChatGPT can't update an existing app's address — if it changed, delete the app from Plugins and repeat the connect steps above with the latest address.
  4. Start a new chat and ask ChatGPT to use the app.

  1. Open the Connectors page and select Trade Flow.
  2. Refresh or update the connector's tools.
  3. Claude can't update an existing connector's address — if it changed, remove the connector and repeat the connect steps above with the latest address.
  4. Ask Claude to use the app.

Refresh step · Claude Code

  1. Start a new Claude Code session — it loads the latest tools when it connects.
  2. If the address changed, run claude mcp remove trade-flow, then run the install command above again with the latest address.
  3. Ask Claude Code to use the app.

Refresh step · Other assistants

  1. Open the assistant's MCP server or connector settings.
  2. Select the connection you created for Trade Flow.
  3. Refresh the tool list, reload the server, or reconnect it.
  4. If the address changed, paste the latest address from above.
  5. Start a new chat or session and ask the assistant to use the app.
